DFS, which is short for DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH, is the German air navigation service provider. Every year, we ensure that millions of passengers reach their destinations safely and efficiently. German airspace is one of the busiest in the world. In three percent of European airspace, DFS handles around 30 percent of European air traffic – around the clock, 365 days a year.
We make sure that all aircraft always have sufficient separation between each other. We strive to ensure that the aircraft under our control reach their destinations on time and without major detours in an as environmentally friendly manner as possible. In addition, we help to reduce aircraft noise by means of intelligent flight routes and low-noise procedures. We need teamwork and technical innovations to make sure all this happens.
