      DFS values the diversity of its staff. DFS places particular emphasis on the promotion of women in the workplace and has launched numerous initiatives in this area, including setting a goal for the proportion of women in management positions.



      The welfare of our staff is important us and we strive to help staff reach an appropriate work-life balance. DFS is certified by the non-profit Hertie Foundation under its 'work and family audit' (audit berufundfamilie) as part of our process to optimise the balance between work and family life.

      Our top priority is to ensure the highest possible level of safety in air traffic while fulfilling the needs of civil and military airspace users. We have achieved international recognition as an air navigation service provider for highly complex airspaces and we continuously work on improving the quality of our services.

      We lead in the development and application of advanced airport management technologies at airports throughout Europe. We actively influence standards and procedures on the European stage and act to shape the future of air navigation services in Europe. Particularly important examples of this are our work in FABEC and in the SESAR programme. FABEC stands for functional airspace block Europe central. It covers the airspaces of Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland and attempts to manage these airspaces 'as one'. The SESAR programme is a pan-European initiative to harmonise and synchronise the provision of air traffic management.


      On the international stage, we are working on extending our market position by meeting the changing requirements of our industry and customers and being directly involved in the major developments that shape the aviation market.

      In addition, we address the issues of sustainability, environment and climate in an active and responsible manner. DFS does its share to keep aircraft pollution and aircraft noise emissions at a low level and reduce their impact where possible. We are drivers of key technologies with a positive impact on all identified performance parameters, including the environment. We are innovative at all levels.
