DFS and IUBH sign cooperation agreement

DFS, the German air navigation service provider, and the IUBH University of Applied Sciences today signed a cooperation agreement covering professional development for DFS staff on 24 January 2019. Under the agreement, DFS personnel receive a discount on the regular tuition fees at the private university.

01.02.2019.- This opportunity is open to all DFS employees, with a special focus on operational air traffic control staff. Especially these staff members doing shift work at the DFS units around Germany will be able to study on a part-time basis because IUBH has locations across Germany and offers a comprehensive range of online courses. "We already offer a host of courses for our administrative staff," said Dr Michael Hann, Managing Director Human Resources at DFS. "This new agreement particularly meets the needs of operational staff who have to do shift work and work public holidays."

This agreement is a further building block that complements air traffic controller training with part-time distance learning courses. "We are looking forward to working with DFS," said Prof Dr Kurt Jeschke, Pro-rector, Corporate Programmes at the IUBH. "The trust placed by DFS in the practical relevance and quality of our distance education courses is more than justified. The IUBH offers both operational and non-operational staff at DFS fascinating courses covering everything from aviation management to IT."

Last year, the cooperation agreement with the Hochschule Worms (University of Applied Sciences Worms) was the first step DFS took in this direction with the Air Traffic Management dual course of studies at bachelor level. Further cooperation agreements are planned with other universities and educational institutions.
