Arriving by car
Leave motorway A7 at the exit “HH-Schnelsen Nord” and drive towards the airport via the roads "Oldesloer Straße", "Swebenweg", "Krohnstieg" and "Flughafenumgehung" (B433).
Take the second exit at the airport in the direction of the repair hangar (Luftwerft), air cargo (Luftfracht) and holiday parking (Holiday Parken P8/P9).
Take the next right onto the road “Weg beim Jäger” and keep driving until you reach the entrance to the General Aviation Terminal (GFZ/GAT).
The entrance to the GAT is the first on the right (opposite the entrance to "Holiday Parken" P8/P9).
Head straight towards the GAT, then bear left to the security post which is located at the western end of the GAT. When the barrier is opened, only one vehicle may pass through at a time (persons, luggage and vehicles will be checked).

Visitors without a valid airport ID card will receive a day pass and a vehicle pass upon presentation of a passport or personal identification card. Day passes, day passes for vehicles and authorisations for people who need to bring tools with them (Handwerkerbescheinigung) must be applied for at least two days ahead of time via the DFS Hamburg branch. Please include your first name, surname, date of birth and, if applicable, your car's plate number. Otherwise, airport ID cards need to be issued and picked up at the airport ID issuing office.

(Please note: Visitors without a valid background check for security clearance and access authorisation to Hamburg Airport may receive a maximum of five day passes per month or 12 day passes per calendar year).

Visitors without an airport ID must be picked up at the security post by the contact person.
