DFS provides its services all over Germany. It monitors air traffic in German airspace from four control centres. In addition, DFS is represented at all of the 15 designated international airports in Germany, where it monitors take-offs and landings from the control tower. Saarbrücken Airport is an exception, however, as DFS uses its new remote tower control system to monitor traffic for this airport. The traffic in Saarbrücken has been controlled from Leipzig, located hundreds of kilometres to the east, since December 2018.
