Cooperation in training
The Air Navigation Services Academy of DFS provides joint training for civil trainees and fully qualified military aerodrome control officers so that they can perform air traffic control services in the DFS control centres.
Functions of DFS for military air traffic:
- Air traffic control service for operational air traffic of the Armed Forces
- Control of special military flights, such as in-flight refuelling
- Monitoring of temporary reserved airspaces
- Support of military exercises
- Flight inspection of radar stations and navigation aids
- Establishment of a national civil-military airspace management cell (AMC)
- Cooperation with the Bundeswehr Air Traffic Services Office, the flying units and air defence
- Joint training at the DFS Air Navigation Services Academy for personnel for the control centres
- Equal opportunities in the filling of management positions and other vacancies, in the application of selection criteria and in human resources development
- Coordination of personnel measures with the Federal Ministry of Defence
