Range of services The Academy offers you a comprehensive portfolio of products and services for training your staff. Recruitment and selection of operational staff and of air traffic control students Initial and advanced training of air navigation services personnel working in the areas of operations and administration e-learning – courseware and development Training-related consultancy services Additional services before, during and after training Concept Air traffic controllers, ATM specialists and technical air navigation services personnel are all trained on the basis of the DATS system. Thanks to the modular structure of DATS, we can meet individual customer requirements in a flexible and efficient way. All of the course modules are based on the standards of the European ATM Programme (EATM). They fulfil the requirements of the EU directive on a community ATCO License. The courses have been developed in such a way as to promote the knowledge, abilities and behavioural skills of the participants. All training methods and results are subject to a quality management process, and the training documentation has been standardised to a large extent according to the requirements of the ICAO Trainair programme. A large number of practical exercises are conducted at an early stage of the training. All participants are given the opportunity to individually prepare for their future tasks by means of computer-based training, skills training, part-task and simulation exercises. A large number of guest lecturers and contracted teachers are also employed to serve our customers. Many of them have several years of experience working in the operational air navigation services at DFS or for international air navigation service providers.
