Personnel
DFS has a workforce of 6,000 at DFS locations throughout Germany and at the EUROCONTROL Centre in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Women now account for a fifth of the workforce.
DFS has 1,900 air traffic controllers, making them the largest occupational group in the company. The technical systems required in the air navigation services are planned, developed and operated by 1,000 technicians and engineers, most of whom work in Langen. The rest of the DFS staff work as AIS briefing officers in Frankfurt-Rödelheim, at the Headquarters, at the Air Navigation Services Academy as well as in other areas of DFS. In addition, 150 recruits are currently training at DFS in various professions, such as to become air traffic controllers.
