Legal basis
DFS is required to handle air traffic in a safe, orderly and expeditious manner in accordance with Article 27c, paragraph 1 of the German Aviation Act. DFS is required to implement a safety management system in keeping with Annex II, part 3.1 of the Regulation (EC) No. 2096/2005. In many areas, DFS goes above and beyond what is required by law.
