ATC systems
DFS spends EUR 45 million on IT systems related to air traffic control. Approximately 83 percent of this amount is used for systems in the following areas:
- Air traffic services
- Ground-to-ground communication
- Airspace and air traffic flow management
- Infrastructure management support
- Operational trainers and simulators
Seventeen percent of the budget is spent on systems for the following:
- Precision approach and landing systems
- Ground-to-air communication
- TMA capacity
- Independent surveillance
- Maintenance trainers and simulators
- En-route navigation and non-precision approach systems
- Dependent surveillance
