Topping-out ceremony at new Frankfurt control tower

DFS is getting ready for the fourth runway

DFS celebrated the topping-out of the new control tower at Frankfurt Airport. In his address, DFS Managing Director Ralph Riedle praised the construction workers for their great efforts and emphasised how important the new tower will be for the airport.

"Air traffic may be declining at the moment, but we are convinced that the crisis will soon be over and that traffic figures will pick up again. We will be ready for this upturn." The 70 m high landmark of DFS offers air traffic controllers an unobstructed view of the existing three runways as well as the new runway number four. Frankfurt Airport will be in a position to accommodate more than 2000 arrivals and departures per day, approximately 60,000 per month and more than 650,000 per year.
