Langen, 31 July 2008 New aeronautical chart for the Czech Republic
DFS has published a new aeronautical chart of the Czech Republic for VFR flights. This new chart is on a scale of 1:500 000 and has the same clear and concise layout as the German ICAO chart. In addition to the Czech Republic chart, the DFS “Visual 500” series includes charts for Austria, Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands. So pilots can fly to the countries bordering Germany using charts containing the usual topographical information. The chart covers the entire territory of the Czech Republic and adjacent parts of Germany, including the airspace around Dresden and Straubing, as well as some parts of Austria, Slovakia and Poland. Apart from typical information regarding the airspace structure and airfields, the chart also indicates the name, location indicator, frequency, length and direction of the runway as well as the traffic circuit altitude. Roads and motorways are displayed in detail. On the reverse side of the chart, pilots can find further information on topics such as broadcasts of ATIS and meteorological reports. The exact coordinates of the VFR reporting points for entering the control zones are listed here. Updated and modified by DFS every year, these charts can be ordered at www.dfs-aviationshop.de or from other distributors of aeronautical products. Visual 500 Czech Republic (folded paper) costs € 9.90. Digital images of the charts are available upon request.
