Open Day - DFS opens its doors to the public on 2 September 2007

An exciting programme awaits our visitors on the DFS Open Day in Langen: Helicopters, a tornado, a fire engine and a weather balloon, only to mention a few of the highlights you will find on the DFS campus in Langen on 2 September, between 11:00 and 18:00. Admission is free.

A special feature this year will be the Simulator Centre presented by the Research and Development department. It will allow visitors to follow a simulation all day long – an inside tip for anyone keen to get as close as possible to controller working positions in a radar control centre. But there is even more: For instance, the pilot corner for private pilots, lectures on how the air traffic services work and information about jobs and training – since DFS is looking for 100 new controllers to train next year.

Children can enjoy the large entertainment park with fun and games, while adults may look forward to good music and the chance to win one of many prizes. In addition, sightseeing flights in a helicopter are offered (costs € 35). Weather-related topics will be discussed by the German Meteorological Service, and the Federal Office of Civil Aviation provides information on passenger rights as well as on flight procedures. Of course, food and beverages will be served.

Visitors are kindly asked to use public transport as there is limited parking. The DFS campus can be conveniently reached on the commuter trains (S-Bahn) S3 and S4 (train stop "Langen-Flugsicherung").
