Langen, 3 January 2007 DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH makes offer
Salary increase of three per cent and one-time payment of €1,750 In the labour dispute between DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH and the air navigation services union “Gewerkschaft der Flugsicherung” (GdF), DFS has now made an offer to the union which had earlier withdrawn the unlawful parts of its package of demands. The company offers a three per cent increase in salaries across the board as well as a one-time payment of € 1,750, the term of the agreement being one year. The one-time payment for one year is exactly fifty per cent of the sum which the union had demanded for a period of two years. The salary increase demanded by the GdF amounts to four per cent. In addition, DFS informed the union that its demand for establishing new salary structures would be addressed. A concrete proposal would be submitted before resuming negotiations. DFS had, up to now, refused to make an offer because it regarded the package of demands as ruinous. Moreover, experts had recently established the unlawfulness of those parts that would have led to exorbitant costs. Now that the union has withdrawn these critical demands, the company sees itself in a position to make an offer. Having made this proposal which is clearly a concession to the union's demands, DFS now expects the GdF to return to the bargaining table. DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH is a State-owned company under private law and has 5,200 employees. DFS ensures the safe and punctual handling of flights.
