AIP and NfL Online now official publications

The Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs has given DFS the go-ahead to publish the AIP (Aeronautical Information Publication) and the German-language publication NfL (Nachrichten für Luftfahrer) on the Internet as official versions. Now it is no longer necessary for users to also keep a paper version. The online editions of the AIP and the NfL have the same status as the CD-ROM and printed versions.

DFS will make the official German AIP and NfL Online available for subscribers to download every 14 days.

The AIP Online comprises all important aviation-related information and provisions for the Federal Republic of Germany in the languages German and English. It contains the parts GEN, ENR, AD, SUP and AIC and meets ICAO standards. Part I of the NfL contains directives, important information and notices concerning flight operations, while part II has information about aeronautical products and aviation personnel.

Subscribers to the online publications can download the up-to-date versions from the Internet, which contain all AIP Amendments. The main benefit is that the time-consuming procedure of manually adding supplements to the paper version is no longer necessary. Users of the online editions can print out individual pages of the AIP or NfLs separately.

Customers can switch to the electronic version or order the current AIP and NfL (on paper, CD-ROM or online) by calling the Aeronautical Information Service Centre (AIS-C) at the telephone number: +49 (0)69 78072-540. An annual subscription costs €309 for the AIP Online, and €139 for the NfL Online. For further information, please visit www.dfs.de
