Official versions of AIP and NfL now available on CD-ROM

The Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing has given DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH the go-ahead to publish the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) and NfL as official versions on CD-ROM. From now on, the CD-ROM versions of the AIP and NfL will have the same status as the printed editions.

The German-language publication "Nachrichten für Luftfahrer" (NfL) is the official gazette for the announcement of ordinances as well as of important information and notifications for aviation. DFS will publish official editions of the AIP and NfL on CD-ROM every 14 days.

Subscribers to the CD-ROM editions will receive updated versions which include all of the new AIP Amendments. As a result, no more time will be wasted in adding the Amendments to the paper version. Users of the CD-ROM will also benefit from the option to print out individual pages of the AIP or individual NfLs on a separate sheet.

As a one-off action, DFS is sending all of the subscribers to the AIP an official CD-ROM version with the AIP Amendment dated 17 March 2005. Subscribers to the NfL will, in turn, receive an official NfL version on
CD-ROM on 31 March 2005.

Customers can change their order to paperless products by calling the Aeronautical Information Service Centre (AIS-C). The current AIP and NfL can be ordered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by calling the AIS-C at: +49 69 78072-540. These documents are presently available as a hardcopy, CD-ROM and can be downloaded from the Internet.
