Under the auspices of the German Minister of Transport Dr. Manfred Stolpe, the initiators, i.e. DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH, Munich Airport, Fraport AG and Deutsche Lufthansa AG, aim to consolidate Germany’s position on the international air transport market in the long term. On the one hand, they aim to achieve a stable economic basis in air transport in Germany and Europe; on the other hand, they intend to pave the way towards consolidating the position of the German air transport industry in Europe in the light of its imminent expansion. First results will be presented in spring 2004.
