DFS on the new procedures for the new Northwest Runway at Frankfurt Airport

Many things will change at Frankfurt Airport in the airspace of the Langen Control Centre with the opening of the new runway in Frankfurt on 20 October 2011.
There will be a large number of new procedures, modified airspace structure and, sooner or later, a significant increase in traffic volume in and around Frankfurt approach control airspace.
For this reason, there will be changes in the routing of various ATS routes that used to allow crossing the airspace of approach control. ATS routes affected include L603, N850, T840 and Z41.

In the future, the new routings will be guided around airspace C Frankfurt (e.g. Z658 in the north, Z12 in the south, T847 in the west and Z190/Z720 and FUL-MAMBU-TOSTU FL80 or lower in both directions in the east). Alternatively, the routings will only be usable from flight level 140 and above and therefore be above the approach control airspace.
All airspace users are therefore asked to familiarise themselves with new procedures in time to ensure correct flight planning.

VFR flights are affected as follows:
Flights through airspace "C" will be restricted in the future. Pilots are requested to fly around or below airspace "C" Frankfurt and this should be reflected in their pre-flight planning.
VFR flights will no longer be allowed to cross Frankfurt Airport (midfield crossing). The same applies to departures from Egelsbach to the north via the reporting point "L" (Lima). Special regulations will be put in place for police and rescue flights.

DFS kindly asks all private pilots, charter companies and airlines for their understanding in this matter.
