SESAR Joint Undertaking
In order to manage the SESAR Development Phase the European Union created the SESAR Joint Undertaking (SJU) in February 2007. The aim of the SESAR Joint Undertaking is to ensure the coordination of all research and development efforts under the SESAR Masterplan. The SESAR Joint Undertaking is a public-private partnership with the European Commission and EUROCONTROL as its founding members, supported by 15 leading organisations of the aviation sector. They include:
- Air navigation service providers from France (DSNA), Germany (DFS), Italy (ENAV), Northern Europe and Austria (NORACON), Spain (AENA) and Great Britain (NATS)
- Airports: Frankfurt, Munich, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Zurich
- Manufacturers of onboard and ground equipment: Frequentis, Indra, SELEX Sistemi Integrati, Thales
- Aircraft and avionics manufacturers: Airbus, Honeywell and Alenia Aeronautica
